Volunteer work day at Harrison’s Rocks

The next SVG day is at Harrison’s Rocks on 1st April 2023 (No it’s not an April Fool!).

As usual, we’ll meet at 09:30 in the Harrison’s car park for a briefing before heading along to the crag to carry out scrub clearance, revetement work and general crag maintenance.

In terms of tools – a bowsaw or pruning saw and long-handled pruners are useful for dealing with wood. For revetment work, a bowsaw, spade/pick/shovel are useful. Secateurs are good for general scrub pruning but please come along and help even if you have no tools – there will be some extras.

Please wear suitable old clothing (not your best Arcteryx jacket…) and some stout footwear and maybe a pair of gardening gloves – it may rain, of course…

For those who can come out later, please come and come along crag and find the organiser… Please don’t start any work unless you’ve ‘signed in’ and been briefed on the day’s activities.

Please come out and help us – even if you’ve never been on an SVG day before – it would be great to see you and you can help us maintain the condition of and access to access to the Southern Sandstone outcrops..
